Entrepreneurs believe that ensuring safety in the workplace is a priority at the moment - said the President of the Confederation Lewiatan Maciej Witucki. In the event of the fourth wave of infections, the restrictions may return in a few weeks, he added.
"We are more and more concerned about the possibility of a fourth wave of infections caused by the new variant of the coronavirus. In this situation, ensuring safety at the workplace becomes a priority" - said the president of the Polish Confederation Lewiatan.
Witucki emphasized that entrepreneurs are responsible not only for the health of employees but also for the company. "As employers, we must take care of the safety of employees and customers," he said. According to him, it is worth considering introducing solutions that may be helpful in fighting the pandemic.
"Maybe employees should inform their employer whether they have already been vaccinated against COVID-19. This mainly applies to work in companies where it is not possible to organize remote work" - he indicated.
According to him, a good solution would be to conduct tests before entering workplaces. "A person who tests positive for the coronavirus would be immediately isolated from the rest of the company's employees and customers," he said. At the same time, he admitted that the Lewiatan Confederation is not a supporter of radical solutions, such as not allowing unvaccinated people to enter enterprises or shops. "We intensively support vaccination of employees carried out in enterprises" - he added.
As Witucki noted, if we do not prepare well for the fourth wave of the pandemic, "we are threatened with further restrictions, the negative effects of which will again be felt by entrepreneurs and employees". (PAP)
