A month before its official public release, the final beta preview of Android P has been rolled
out by Google. After Oreo, Android P is all the rage of 2018. According to Google’s blog post-
“Android P is almost here!”, which followed its release of Android P Beta 4, also known as
Developer Preview 5. This version of Android has a new gesture-based navigation system, and
there is always scope for more changes and improvements which can be made in the future.
There has yet not been any mention of any major bugs or issues with the new beta version.
The team of developers for Android P recently had an AMA session on Reddit to answer
many questions and speculations on Android P, the final name of which has not yet been
confirmed. According to them, their main impetus was about making All Apps/ Overview
more accessible similar to the notification shade. Keeping in mind the dependability of
Home and Back buttons during the designing, both aesthetic and functional appeal are said to
have been maintaining in the current version.
The digital wellness features such as app times or smartphone usage dashboard have been
removed from the latest version. There has also been much speculation about a Unified
Dark Mode, upon which Google has yet anything to say.
