"We already have over 44.5 thousand registered participants. We have seen a significant increase in interest in the website since the pandemic began. The third wave effect is particularly noticeable - in the period March-May 2021 the number of registered accounts increased by over 14.5 thousand." - informed the director of the Information Processing Center - National Research Institute, Dr. Jarosław Protasiewicz. He added that OPI PIB has already spent over 21 thousand. course completion certificates, 8.5 thousand were issued only in the last three months.

Poles are beginning to understand that the knowledge acquired from school and studies is insufficient in the modern, dynamically changing world. The development of the Internet has changed our habits: we shop online more and more often, we are more eager to use Internet platforms offering films and series, which is why the area of distance learning also had to evolve "- pointed out the NAVOICA project manager at OPI PIB, Maciej Kolankowski.

According to OPI PIB, the most popular subject areas of training include programming and learning foreign languages, as well as the development of soft skills.

The subject of the training courses offered concerns, among others information technology, programming principles, key competencies in business, as well as the methodology of writing diploma theses. There is also practical training in business management or game design.

Taking into account the great interest of foreigners in Poland, NAVOICA also offers free courses in English and Russian.

The NAVOICA platform was created as part of the "Polish MOOC" project, commissioned by the Ministry of Education and Science. It was created by the Information Processing Center - National Research Institute. OPI-PIB is the operator of the platform and takes care of the project development, as well as oversees the methodological quality of the courses. Until July 2020, the content operator of the platform was the Young Science Foundation.

NAVOICA is institutionally supported by the Conference of Rectors of Academic Schools in Poland. (PAP)
