Polish athletes Otylia Jędrzejczak, Kinga Dróżdż, Piotr Małachowski and Konrad Bukowiecki encouraged to vaccinate on Friday. They emphasized that this was the only way to return to normalcy and ensure safety for themselves and their loved ones.
At the press conference promoting the national vaccination program against Covid-19, the following athletes appeared together with Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki: swimmer Otylia Jędrzejczak, Polish representative in wheelchair fencing Kinga Dróżdż, athletes Piotr Małachowski and Konrad Bukowiecki.
"I am very glad that as an athlete, but also a person who fought for us to return to the swimming pools, today we say to get vaccinated. For us, athletes, it is extremely important that we can return to physical activity, to compete with the audience and that we ourselves can feel safe in the sports arenas, among ourselves, which is why these vaccinations are so important to us "- said Jędrzejczak.
"For me, a person who works in sports for children and adolescents, it is extremely important, because I believe that physical activity in our society should be the number one in the future, so that we can do this physical activity safely, we should also be vaccinated - for ourselves and for others "- she added.
She emphasized that, first of all, we vaccinate ourselves, and then give it safety to our loved ones. She was pleased to be able to speak out about it and encourage others to vaccinate. She pointed out that the most important thing is that vaccination allows you to feel safe and "return to normal".
Other athletes present at the conference also expressed their joy in participating in the vaccination campaign. Kinga Dróżdż emphasized that vaccinations gave the athletes "inner peace" and allowed them to prepare for the Olympics.
Małachowski and Bukowiecki also encouraged people to get vaccinated; they emphasized that this was the only way to return to normal functioning. They emphasized that they wanted to set an example by their own actions. (PAP)
