According to the government's decision, from Saturday, March 27 to April 9 large-format furniture and construction stores with an area of over 2,000 sq m sq m will be closed. Shopping centers and malls - as they are today - remain closed, with the exception of: grocery stores, pharmacies and drugstores, press salons, bookstores. In retail outlets at the market or post office, new limits will apply: 1 person per 15 sq m - in shops up to 100 sq m. and 1 person per 20 sq m in stores over 100 sq m. The ban will also cover hairdressing, beauty and cosmetic salons.
"Health is the most important thing, so we take the government's decision seriously," Michał Łenczyński, the representative of the initiative told PAP.
At the same time, he encouraged customers to move their visits to the first days after frostbite now.
Łenczyński reminded that on May 18, 2020, after a 7-week lockdown in the beauty industry, customers "stormed all salons in Poland". "The average waiting time for an appointment at a hair and beauty salon was 16 days then," he added.
In his opinion, hard lockdown "requires decisive aid measures aimed at frozen companies."
"Otherwise, it would be ineffective. We are afraid that some specialists and entrepreneurs would face a dramatic choice between work and bread. That is why we will present specific proposals of financial support supported by legal and economic analyzes. The budget will benefit from it, all of us, because the companies that will survive, they will continue to pay taxes, "he said.
As he indicated, the year of operation of the beauty industry "has shown indisputably that hairdressing and beauty salons are the safest of all service industries".
