The Dark Mode in YouTube now available for Android devices

After the Dark Mode was first unveiled for YouTube desktop and then for iOS devices in March, this feature has now been made available to YouTube users as well. Dark Mode turns the interface all black and reduces the strain on eyes while navigating the app in the dark. It can also help in a more immersive YouTube experience for its users and help in saving the battery life of Android devices.

Currently, YouTube has over 1.9 billion monthly active users.  This latest YouTube feature has been unveiled shortly after the function of adding hashtags in video titles and the description box to make searching for videos easier. YouTube has also been testing a replacement for the Trending section as an Explore tab on iOS devices to give budding video creators a chance to be discovered by the new audience by a ‘creators on the rising shell.' The explore tab is supposed to differ from the Recommendations tab as it will broaden the video topics instead of suggesting similar videos. To compete with video streaming competitors like Amazon Prime Video, Netflix, Hulu, etc., YouTube has also been planning to introduce its original programming in countries like Japan, France, Germany, Mexico, and India.
