Covid-19 free trains run between Rome and Milan

Covid-19 free trains run between Rome and Milan. The condition for the trip is to present a negative coronavirus test result in the last 48 hours. The survey can also be done free of charge at the station.

So far, two daily connections have been launched: in the morning from Rome and in the evening from Milan. Tickets are the same price as others on this route.

Anyone who buys a ticket for such a high-speed train must arrive at the station 45 minutes before departure with a negative antigen or molecular test result. A quick check can also be done at special Red Cross points at the entrance to stations in both cities. The result is obtained after a quarter of an hour.

In the event of a positive result confirming infection, the passenger will receive a full refund of the ticket price.

Half of the seats in "Covid-19 free" trains are in accordance with the applicable standards.

After the current initial phase, such trains will also run on other routes in Italy, especially in the summer season, the railway management announced. It was emphasized that this initiative is ahead of the European solutions that are being developed.

"We are the first before the others," noted Transport Minister Enrico Giovannini.

"This is a return to safe travel" stressed the Minister of Tourism Massimo Garavaglia.
